Ironman Triathlete

No, not me.

Sérgio Marques, the only professional Ironman triathlete here in Portugal will race this Saturday on Ironman St.George in North America. "There has been chatter that the course may be the hardest of them all in the USA".

You can read more info about this race here: St. George Ironman

All the best to him!

I did it!

I raced my first Half-Ironman distance triathlon!

I finished with 4h54min (1.9km swim: 33min/90km bike: 2h51min/21.1km run: 1h 25min) and felt pretty good and light on the run.

But what was done correctly is over and now I have to look to what was bad (cycling) and try to improve it. I'll not only have to get some speed on the bike but I'll have to buy some equipment essential for the next races in this distance.
I really enjoyed to race this distance in triathlon. It is the kind of race where you manage your effort and is you that control every move. Certainly this distance will be in my plans for the near future.

My next triathlon will be Aveiro Triathlon (another Half-Ironman triathlon near Porto).

With patience everything can be possible!

Let's do it!

So last 36hours to race my first Half-Ironman distance Triathlon (1.9km/90km/21.1km).

Many people said that I'm too young and others that I don't have enough experience or capacity.

I have done all the training, I have eaten well, recovered and slept effectively.
So let's first put all the nerves and anxiety to my back and then prove to me (and then to others) what I'm able to do!

I don't like to use cliches but this is good here: YES I CAN!

I'm so anxious!

So this is last week report

I had a great time in England. Got to know new places, cities and Universities. I really liked the small cities like Bath, Norwich and Cambridge. I have been in London quiet a lot of times and it's getting more stressful to be there.

Because sometimes pics tell more than words here they are (with comments):

I am Suprised!

I'll do a report of my last week tomorrow. I have many things to say.

Today I just came to tell you that I'm really amazed by the BlueSeventy website. It's a pleasure for me to be the only portuguese to have their help and to be in a group with big names in triathlon.

Have a look here and try to find my name:

Next week

After two weeks of good training including 5 trips to the gym I'll be out of Portugal in the next week.

I'll go to a trip in England and these are the cities that I'll visit: Bath, Windsor, Cambridge and Norwich before heading to the airport in London directly to Faro (Algarve) where in the day after I'll race in a Sprint Triathlon (Quarteira, Algarve).

See you guys in one week and two days!

Have a nice easter!
