1st tri race
So last sunday I raced in my first triathlon of the season and it's incredible how time has gone - one year ago I was doing my first sprint triathlon (I raced my first triathlon ever in Estoril, a Super-Sprint with a mountain bike =D).
After one year of training and time well spend in the pool, in the saddle, on the track and on the road I am more confident and of course "stronger and faster"! I know that I have a lot to improve mainly in the bike part but I also know that taking triathlon as a part of me and my life was a great decision!
I think it's fantastic what you feel during a triathlon: the stress to put your wetsuit on, the anxiety before the race start, the one of "what i'm doing here in the middle of so many legs and arms trying to beat me?". And on the other hand the feelings of I can do this or let's go faster.
Triathlon trains you mentally to focus in what you really want, to be pacient and to be determined to achieve your goals.
I hope next year at this time I'll be here to write my experience that's been so great in triathlon!
P.S. In the pic that's me in my new tri suit (I'll post some pics when it'll arrive with the sponsor logos)

First Duathlon/First Triathlon
Last sunday I raced the Cadaval Duathlon.
I didn't warm-up so good as I wanted to because there was a mistake with the race start: 10:45 am not 11:00 am as the guy on the micro said. So when I got to the start line my heart rate was at 200bpm.
The simple race review: The first run was in a 3 lap course with ups and downs all the time. In the second lap was already a bit tired. So in cycling I didn't manage to get any group. It was like pain alone to the second run. To my surprise I felt pretty light in the second run.
The day after the race (Monday) I was sleeping during one of the lectures in Uni! Hopefully the teacher didn't saw me =D
Now I want to see how I will going to be at my first triathlon next sunday. It's in Santarém - 40min from Lisbon.

Why?
Yes, I have been very busy with the lectures and increasing in the training volume.
At this point, it is time to improve my power and strength in the bike workouts.
Ah almost forget to tell you that I felt pretty well in the first half of the 10km road race but began to feel tired for the second half. My coach said it is usual for the time of the year plus I haven't done any taper.
Regarding my race calendar next week I'll race in a Sprint Duathlon in Cadaval. The first triathlon of the season will be in two weeks - a Sprint Triathlon in Santarem.
P.S. I have already signed for my first ever long distance triathlon! - Half Ironman distance (1.9km/90km/21.1km) in Lisbon on the 24th of April
